Vado

I mentioned J. Cole on my first post as one of the few new artists that I really like. Vado is another one. Vado came out of nowhere when he emerged as Cam'ron's newest protégé. At first I really wasn't gonna give him a chance since I was really sick of the Dipset. I admit, I was a fan, but that was under Cam's leadership....not the skinny jeans, smedium t-shirt wearing fool who talks more shit than he looks like he'd smell. "Smell me?" Okay den.

Vado has been highlighted on Cam'ron's last three mixtapes with DJ Drama and an album called Heat In Here. He has not even had his own mixtape or album yet, but when he hit the stage at Hot 97's Summerjam concert he didn't disappoint. Fans seemed to really like his performace of "Speakin' Tongues". He's been on DJ Green Lantern's OnDaSpot freestyle sessions and just tonight the Funkmaster Flex show.

I've grown tired of these rappers that sing. I miss the bravado...haha. I didn't mean to do that. I miss real spitters. You'll see what I mean and the potential he has. I don't know if he'll ever be as big as Drake. Really, I think that's a good thing.

There are too many links I could provide, you can find more by just searching for him. These are a couple of links that are a lil older and some are new, including one of my recent favorites, "Large On The Streets". Listen for the third verse where he is paying homage to Big L. Dope! On the freestyle he goes in over Mobb Deep's "Quiet Storm". Did I say he GOES IN????

Clangin & Swangin

Mixtapes come out everyday. Most of them aren't worth a listen. It's rare that I can listen to a whole tape. One of my favorite mixtapes is Ray Cash's Clangin And Swangin. Joey Fingaz hosting and Kickdrums on the boards. There's only eleven tracks, no bullshit or filler. Ray Cash may not be the best rapper ever, but he ain't a slouch either. He's kinda a mix of T.I., Jay-Z and Bun B, I guess.  Anyways, check it out for yourself if you haven't already. It's perfect for the summertime and riding in your whip with the windows down.

I apologize for the link, as it's not a direct download. Hopefully you know what a torrent is and how to use it. If you don't, get your internets game up.

Under Pressure - The Long Awaited 1st Single from Detox

After more than 10 years of waiting, Dr. Dre's first song from Detox leaked last week. This is the track featuring Jay-Z that he promised would be out in April. Dr. Dre has teased fans for years that he was almost finished and then would scrap the tracks or give them to other artists. It's been said he is a perfectionist. Well, Detox better be perfect when it comes out...if it ever comes out. The last I heard, it will be out during the 4th quarter this year.

Under Pressure is not a completed track, it does not have a chorus. The beat sounds...techno. It's a club track, for the ladies. It has no West Coast feel to it. Both Dr. Dre and Jay-Z's lyrics are wack. Jay needs to not steal Drake's style. Why the hell does he need to change his flow? Go back to what worked. Dre sounds like Young Jeezy.

This song is the ABSOLUTE worst track from either artist. I really hope this is a throwaway and doesn't make the album. I'd rather wait a few more years for some better songs than get this crap. Maybe he shouldn't put it out at all. I don't want to see him tarnish his legendary status with a huge flop. That would be a sad day.

Form your own opinion by checking the link and tell me what you think.

What is Speaker Worthy?

What is Speaker Worthy? Well, if you're like me or most of my friends(I say most because some of y'all be listening to some bullshit), then a hard beat and hard lyrics fits the description. I'm not just saying any beat that bangs either. Lil' Boosie is a no-go. I think if anyone has heard Drake's HIGHLY anticipated album, and are more of a hip-hop fan than an R&B fan, you were disappointed. I know I was. I've heard of "catering to the ladies", but damn. C'mon son. More on that later. I really just want to start off this blog with a example of what I think is Speaker Worthy. So follow the links below and check out why I think J. Cole is one of the dopest, new emcees to hit the scene in some time.
