Rass Kass–“Scenario 2012” feat. Planet Asia, Phil THe Agony, Krondon, Montage 1, Mistah F.A.B. & Chino XL Video

Does Chino always have to wear cut-off tee’s? SMH

Ras Kass is always pretty nice, but I wasn’t too sure if this was gonna be worth watching. After watching it, I need the Ras Kass tape, ADIDAS, that’s been out for a minute. I usually hate songs that are updated and re-made, but this was dope. Check it out.

Something for your next marathon. This has a nice feel to it. Look out for DZA’s George Kush Da Button, which is dropping on November 9th.

Kanye West–G.O.O.D. Friday’s

I’ve taken some time off from updating this blog for a minute. A man’s gotta get paid, right? During that time, ‘Ye released some heat. The first is titled “Lord, Lord, Lord”. I like it, with Mos Def and Raekwon, you can’t go wrong. The second is “So Appalled” featuring Jay-Z, Pusha T, Swizz Beatz & Cyhi The Prince. You might remember this song leaking not too long ago incomplete. Well, it is finished and much better now. Not sure what Swizz Beatz is on here for, he kinda ruins it. Luckily he’s not on the mic very long. I’ve been playing this song all week and I love it now. Admittedly, I was disappointed in it at first due to having high hopes for a Clipse x Hov collab. I expected crack, literally. Anyone else never hear of Cyhi The Price either? I don’t know where the he-double hockey sticks he came from but I think he had the best verse, with Jay closely behind. What do y’all think?

Vado–Ain’t A Thang To Me x Slime Flu

“HUUUHHHH!!!”

It’s coming….October 5th to be exact. Are you ready? Is he? I don’t know, but New York Hip-Hop is in his hands. He’s been the only rapper from the birthplace of rap to generate any buzz and keep it for more than a few months. After hearing him on multiple mixtapes and countless songs he’s about to release his first project to the masses. One thing I like about it…I haven’t seen a single yet. Funny thing to me is, they make a singles to sell the albums. I don’t buy the albums because of the damn singles. Ha.

Anyways, here’s one more reason to like Slime.

Kanye West–Runaway ft. Pusha T

If you watched the MTV VMA’s the other night, then you probably caught this already, so here’s the download. If you missed ‘em, there were some pretty good performances, but the only one I cared for was this one. Thanks ‘Ye for not making us wait until Friday for this. ‘Preciate it.

Danny Brown - Raw x2

Black Milk’s Album of the Year came out today and hopefully you bought a copy for yourself. If you’ve heard it then you probably know that its one of the best releases in a while. Major props to Black Milk. My favorite song on the album is “Black & Brown” featuring Danny Brown. This dude is incredible. He’s got a different style and voice than the norm and leaves you waiting to hear what he’s gonna say next. That doesn’t happen too often these days, or at all. If you haven’t heard him yet, let this be your introduction.

“Sittin’ on some Kobe’s
Smoking on a stogie
Bangin Noreaga
When I’m done I light the bogie (what, what)
40 on the floor mat
Aaliyah holy moley
Banana in her tailpipe
Will make her Axel Foley
Eatin’ on perogies
Goose mixed with Sobe
Smokin’ on an OZ
Pimpin’ like an O.G.
If it never knew me, then you probably never know me
Blade on me, homie, mask on like Shinobi
Ball so hard, gotta MVP trophy
Smoke so much kush i forget the hoes that blow me
Thick white bitch, slurp a nigga like a Kirby
Hoes on a nigga and they all look thirsty
Say they 19 and they all look 30
Everyday clean y’all always dirty
Chronic coming in same bag as a turkey
Dark color purple and its tasting like Hershey…”

Danny Brown on “Black & Brown” from Black Milk’s Album Of The Year.

Listen to it here:

Props to the Smoking Section for the lyrics and video.

Also, off his album, The Hybrid, “The Nana Song”. Shot entirely in night-vision.

Get ready to hear a lot more of this dude.

Camron x Cousin Bang x FaceTime

Not really relevent but funny as hell though. Watch as Camron shows Cousin Bang, whose fresh out the bing, the new iPhone 4 app FaceTime. LOL @ Cam’s reaction at the end.

Curren$y ft. Killa Kyleon–4 Hours and 20 Minutes (Ride To H-Town) Video

“Shorty say she dig my music…but I lose her”

Not sure who this Killa Kyleon dude is…pardon me, I don’t stay up on EVERYTHING. This ish does go hard though. I’m kinda feeling this, how ‘bout you?

Kanye West ft. Pusha T–Runaway Video Live x Kanye West–Good Friday

From the MTV Music Awards, Live. Can’t wait the album.

In other related news, Pusha T’s mixtape has been pushed back and will not be out on Tuesday the 14th. No word yet when it will be available, but you can best believe you will find it here when it’s released.

Also, on Friday ‘Ye continued the weekly trend of releasing one song. This time it’s called “Good Friday” featuring everyone from the roster. It’s kinda light compared to the last few leaks, but its still nice. Check it out.

Joe Budden–Mood Muzik 2

It’s been a long weekend and I’ve been in a pissed off mood today. Whenever I’m feeling like this I usually put this on, put a ‘lil something in the air and vibe out. I’m not sure if its because after listening to his problems, mine really aren’t that bad. Or maybe it’s because I can relate to some of the situations, I don’t know. If your familiar with this mixtape series, then I apologize, nothing new here.

I remember when I first heard Joe Budden’s “Pump It Up” and was excited to hear more from him. I got my hands on his album through the net and boy was I disappointed. With the freestyle that DJ Clue used to pit Jay-Z against Buddens, I knew dude could spit. Seemed Def Jam was trying to force a certain type of music. That was probably the last I had heard his music for a couple of years.

Later on I stumbled onto his Mood Muzik 2 mixtape on the internet and people seemed pretty hype about it so I thought I’d check it out. First listen, I was really impressed. Over time, it has grown on me even more and I consider it one of my favorite projects ever, including albums.

With a chip on his shoulder, Joey goes in on all original beats. Don’t get it confused, this ain’t for the radio. It’s not for the clubs either. This is something to twist up and chill to. I can’t stress how super dope this ‘tape is enough. The lyrics are dope, plenty of punchlines and if you’re a fan of the New York hip-hop sound, this is for you. I suggest taking the time to really listening to this tape and the next one as well.

There is a Vol. 1 and 3 as well. The first, I never really liked. The third is nice. I just like the second better just because it was what really put me on to Joe Budden.

Late October is the last I heard. I’ll definitely let you all know when it drops. Until then, this’ll hold you down.

Rah Digga-Classic

Just got my hands on this and am already listening to it. I’ve been waiting on this to drop for a while. It’s been way too long since Dirty Harriet. A few songs in and I’m noticing a trend. Digga is clowning and making her presence known. I’ve heard a few tracks prior to getting the whole project. If you’ve visited here before, you know how I feel. So far, so good. 10 songs, 33 minutes long…er, short. I wish there was more, but for how most albums go these days you get a bunch of filler, or bullshit, whatever you wanna call it. I haven’t heard one song so far that I don’t like. This ish bangs and the lyrics are dope, what more can you ask for? Classic? I don’t know, if it ain’t, it’s damn close. Definitely Speaker Worthy, cop it this coming Tuesday and support real rap.

Black Milk–Album Of The Year

Just got my hands on this. I’m not gonna post the leak here, get if for yourself if you can’t wait. I haven’t listened to it yet, but if it’s anything like the few leaks I’ve heard already, this’ll(I know that’s not a word, I’m saying though..) be one of the best this year. Hmm…maybe Album Of The Year. Check it out for yourself. I’ll let you know what I think tomorrow after it soaks in.

DJ Green Lantern–Invasion Radio 2K10 Mixtape

I never really like a whole mixtape anymore unless it’s from one artist and not a collection of emcees. The case is the same for this as well but it does have its gems. I suggest grabbing this and deleting the B.S. that you don’t care for. There is a song called “Most Kings” by Jay-Z feat. Chris Martin that’s pretty nice. It was supposed to be on Kingdom Come but the never found the right beat. Nas went off on “Power, Paper & Pussy”. There’s also a few freestyles I liked that I never heard before. Check it out and let me know what your favorite song is. Link below.

Friday Round-Up

I’ve been M.I.A. for a few days and there’s been a few tracks I’ve added to my newest playlist, so I thought I’d share. My apologies for not getting these up sooner, but you know, until y’all start paying my bills, I have to work.

Each one of these are bangers. Joell Ortiz’s flow is different than normal, I almost didn’t recognize him. He shut it down. You should already know about Black Milk’s “Deadly Medley”, as I already provided the video. The last two are both freestyles. All four will have you rewinding the track back to hear it again.

AZ ft. June Summers–”Nothing Move”

AZ_rapper_umvd004

I always enjoy AZ’s music, it’s what I feel like Jay and Nas’s ish should both sound like. Maybe its that he never reached his peak or achieved the same success as some of his peers. Maybe its that I have a hard time relating anymore to Jay-Z’s money or Nas’s…whatever it is he’s on. He doesn’t drop stuff on the regular like most of your favorite rappers and that’s okay. I’ll take quality over quantity any day. Check out the gem Sosa just let loose below. If you like it, look out for his re-release of Doe or Die on its 15th Anniversary, on October 10th. This song will be on the album.

Redman & Uncle Murda - "The Eastcoast is Back"

redman_full         uncleMurda_11

I was perusing the internuts this morning and saw a new track from DJ Kayslay's newest mixtape. I always enjoy Redman on the mic and Uncle Murda is....always entertaining, to say the least. The two together on a song was not something I would have imagined, nor would I think they'd ever dream of the pairing either. Only Kayslay could have done something this bad. I couldn't even finish listening to this nightmare of a collab. So just to save you all some time (time is $$$, right?), I thought I'd forewarn y'all. It's moments like these that reminds me of why the South is still winning.

G.I. – Overcame It All f. Jadakiss, French Montana & Beanie Sigel

I don't know who this G.I. dude is but the features are worth the watch alone. They all go off, even French Montana. The verse Beans spits is the same one from the 'lil freestyle he had in the video I posted the other day. Oh well. Still dope to see Jadakiss and Beanie Sigel on the same track together.

One thing I'm mad @: Why the hell is Freeway there and not be on the song?

Danny Brown - "The Hybrid" Video

Danny Brown is another new-coming emcee that I'm geeked over. Dude's hilarious and has some skills on the mic. His voice is a little...different I guess, but I got past that fast. I first discovered him on Elzhi's The Leftovers Unmixedtape back in 2009 on the song "Contra". I then looked him up and found out about The Hybrid album. I snatched that up and its been in rotation for the last few months now. This song in the video didn't make the album, but it's still classic Danny Brown. Check it out and look for his album. It's definitely Speaker Worthy.

Raekwon x Justin Bieber x Kanye West = Runaway Love

raekwon      justin_bieber

This has got to be one of the worst ideas EVER in Hip-Hop. Are 15 year old girls really gonna run and cop the re-released Cuban Linx 2: Gold Edition? Hell no. This has no benefit to Rae. I remember Raekwon talking shit on rappers in the game that went “pop”, this was something like 2001. His music might be dope but dudes a flake. This is, to me anyways, one of the biggest “sell-out’s” in a long time. Raekwon’s next big move---signing to Disney Records. Just kidding, but hey, it could happen.

The comments got worse. Other name thrown out: Foxy Brown, Shawna, Sole, Trina, Lil Kim & Marvelous.

Are you fucking kiddin’ me? Has these people ever heard of Digga or Jean Grae. I admit, Foxy Brown & Lil Kim paved the way and they were both dope in their own respect, but please don’t ever, ever (“forever, ever” *3 Stacks voice) mention best female rapper ever and Nicki Minaj in there until she has a few albums and sticks around for some years.

The Dogg Pound - "I Fear's No One"

Not much going on this weekend in terms of music dropping but I found this cut during my rounds on the net, thanks to The Smoking Section. I was gonna pass this one up because every time I listen to anything new they release, I'm disappointed. The Dogg Pound had so much potential. They broke up, got back together, blah blah blah. They've released more albums, but they didn't have the same success...or any at all. I'm getting the album 100 Wayz right now and am looking forward to hearing it based off of the strength of this song. The beat is perfect for the two and Daz & Kurupt both sound sharp lyrically. It sounds like they never left. I know it's only one song but I hope the album is just as good. I'll let you know later. For now check the link below.

Twista Ft Raekwon - The Heat (Prod. by No I.D. & The Legendary Traxster)

I'm not too much of a fan of Twista but I will always acknowledge hot music. I really enjoyed some of his earlier work but anything from the last 5 years has been horrible. With this song, he is definitely stepping his game up. It seems he's even slowed his flow just so you can pick up on the lyrics, which I love. Dude's always had bars, you(don't front) and I just couldn't hear it all. With production from No I.D. and a feature from Raekwon, why would you pass this up? Get it now.

50 Cent The Comedian video

Everyone knows 50 for his antics. With taking pics and taking Rick Ross' ex shopping, the Curly videos and whatever else he's done that I'm too up in the clouds to remember, 50 is no slouch at taking the opportunity to throw jabs and clown. Kanye West - "See Me Now"

Kanye WestImage via Wikipedia
As promised, Kanye released this track on Hot97 with the help of Angie Martinez. Not sure what I think of this one yet. Sounds like he'll be gone 'til November, his album that is. Pushed back from it's September 14th date that was given a month ago. So much for G.O.O.D. Music Day. I didn't really think it was gonna happen anyways but it sounded good. Big Sean - Finally Famous

I need this like yesterday.

Multitouch DJ Table

I saw this on Engadget last night and it's one of the coolest things I've seen in a while.

Multitouch DJ table lets you swipe to rock: "
We just recently got a glimpse of one possible future of DJing, but our world has now already been turned upside down once again with this multitouch-enabled rig built by Gregory Kaufman. The big difference with this one, as you can probably guess, is that it employs a gesture-based interface that lets you spin the virtual turntables and use a variety of taps and finger swipes to replicate the main functions of a regular DJ deck. What's more, Kaufman says that the only gear a DJ would have to carry is a USB drive with their own music and settings, which they'd simply plug into the multitouch table at a club -- assuming the idea catches on, that is. Top top things off, the system would also be able to accommodate regular DJ gear for some added flexibility, and even provide enough room for two DJs if you're looking to battle or share the stage. Head on past the break to check it out in action.

Bun B's Trill OG = 5 Mics???

So yesterday I read that Bun B got 5 Mics in The Source. I had already downloaded my copy of it but had yet to listen to it. I burned it off and threw it in the car to listen to. I had already heard the track he has with DJ Premier, which is a banger and I've been giving a lot of play. I was immediately intrigued when I heard the news. Only a few good albums over the last few years. Very few. No disrespect to Bun B but I never thought I'd hear a classic album from him.

Freddie Gibbs - Str8 Killa No Filla

Another artist that I have been keeping a close eye on is Freddie Gibbs. The Gary, Indiana native has been making the rounds for the last year heavy on the mixtape scene. He's been featured on countless blogs and also the XXL Top 10 Freshman of the Year. After signing with Interscope and being dropped because he wouldn't sell-out, he is still on the grind. Just a few days ago, he released his new mixtape Str8 Killa, No Filla. It's got a few known tracks if you've been following him too but most of it is all new. One of my favorite tracks off of it is below, in video form. It's pretty dope. Also, yesterday marked the release of Str8 Killa, his EP release. It had just 8 track, but best believe, this is better than most albums over the last couple of years.

Kanye Spits Verses From Good Ass Job

“This is the making of a masterpiece, so we broke out the chains and told the master ‘peace.’"

Actually not. He's scrapped that title and hasn't told anyone what it's going to be. Anyways, 'Ye showed up at Facebook this week and blessed them with some verses acapella. He then also showed up at Twitter too. Luckily, some videos hit the net and we can check 'em out. The more I hear about this album and listen to these verses the more excited I get. The release date is still September 14th but Kid Cudi is no longer part of the onslaught of G.O.O.D. Music. Check out the two videos of Kanye standing on a table doing these verses. Can't wait til "Chain Heavy" leaks. I needed that yesterday.

One quarter of the Slaughterhouse, Joell Ortiz with the help of Funk Flex, released a new freestyle last night. This shit is hotter than this damn Kansas heat.
