Kanye Spits Verses From Good Ass Job

“This is the making of a masterpiece, so we broke out the chains and told the master ‘peace.’"

Actually not. He's scrapped that title and hasn't told anyone what it's going to be. Anyways, 'Ye showed up at Facebook this week and blessed them with some verses acapella. He then also showed up at Twitter too. Luckily, some videos hit the net and we can check 'em out. The more I hear about this album and listen to these verses the more excited I get. The release date is still September 14th but Kid Cudi is no longer part of the onslaught of G.O.O.D. Music. Check out the two videos of Kanye standing on a table doing these verses. Can't wait til "Chain Heavy" leaks. I needed that yesterday.

Joell Ortiz - Funkmaster Flex Freestyle

One quarter of the Slaughterhouse, Joell Ortiz with the help of Funk Flex, released a new freestyle last night. This shit is hotter than this damn Kansas heat. The song is also going around the internuts as "Sing Like Bilal" because it's the beat Joell used from one of DJ Premier's unreleased beats collection. It'll definitely have your head nodding. If not, see your physician. Check it out below.

P.S. Make sure you are ready to rewind.

Young Gunz - Back To Business

Earlier this week the Young Gunz, Young Chris and Neef, released their first mixtape since who knows when. Pretty much the first time anyone has heard Neef spit since the Roc split. I have to admit I was quite excited. I really used to like State Property and bumped pretty much anything they put out. They had so much potential. With Beanie Sigel leading the camp, the Young Gunz, Freeway, Oschino & Sparks and Peedi Crakk, you had a camp that rivaled Wu-Tang. Okay, Peedi sucked. Everyone was raw. Street. Hungry. After Beans went to prison the group pretty much disbanded and all went for dolo. This left the Young Gunz to fend for themselves. They put out a couple of mixtapes but didn't release another album. Neef fell back and let Chris take the reigns to blow up. At least that was the plan. Chris has released mixtape after mixtape, without the same fanfare of the older days on the Roc. After a few years of nothing really happening, I guess they decided to get together to release this tape.

After my first only listen, I was not impressed. At all. It actually pissed me off. I wanted freestyles galore, more grimey shit. Do any of y'all remember the Hot 97 freestyles? Man, I still listen to that. This shit sounds watered down. I'm not even gonna comment on the actual songs because that would be a waste of my time and yours.

So to all my fellow State Prop/Young Gunz fans, if you must, check out this mixtape. This one is getting erased from my memory, in more ways than one. *exhales deeply*

This Ain't No 'Lil Kid Rap

Rah Digga seems to be making a comeback of sorts. This track is featured on Nottz's new album Classic, which should be out September 14th. This song is bangin' and I'm hoping Busta decides to get on board with his old labelmate and do a remix. They were THE shit whenever they did a joint together.

Young Chris - What Should I Do

Always on the grind, Young Chris just released a new video, for "What Should I Do". I like this song and the visuals match the lyrics. I feel Young Chris is one of the most slept on in the game. If you haven't heard his newest mixtape, The Network 2, check it out. This song is on the tape.

Good Ass Job Tracklist

Could it be? I sure hope so. If there is any truth to this tracklist goin' 'round the net, then we may be getting the best 'Ye album yet. DJ Toomp, RZA, No I.D., Madlib & Pete Rock! It looks like he really has gone back to rapping. I may have died and gone to heaven today. I've already gotten some G.O.O.D. news today on a personal note and now that I've seen this I it's even better. I may have to get some Gate's BBQ to make the day complete. Hmmm. Anyways, back to this list.

As most of you know, DJ Toomp is T.I.'s DJ and in-house producer. He's made the most of T.I.'s hard-hitting hits. One thing that I've always said about Kanye(Eminem & T.I. also) is that I'd like to hear them on other great producers track. You can't be an emcee without going in over DJ Premier. Premier & Pete Rock are founders in this game we are part of everyday. They influenced everybody in the early '90's. Madlib is kinda out there and unheard of, but I've grown to like a lot of his work over the last few years. Check him out if you haven't.

I am also just as excited over the features on here as well.  Em & Jay on the same track is ALWAYS exciting. Look for Hov to kill that noise over who had the best verse. I am tired of people sayin' Em ate Jay on "Renegades". Admittedly, I think that is probably one of Eminem's greatest verses and he went bar-for-bar with Jay-Z. I say it's a tie. Granted, I may be biased, but so are you.

Another track I want to hear right now is "Holding Me Back" with Mos Def, Talib Kweli & Phonte. Mos & Talib with Kanye reminds me of the College Dropout days. Anytime they did a track it was classic. I remember getting my copy of the bootleg, me and my boy Lawrence. The copy sounded like shit but we bumped it on a daily.  As far as Phonte goes, I never expect much out of him. All my friends love Little Brother, I ummm, not so much. He spits occasionally and just doesn't excite me. Maybe he'll do Percy Miracles?

Let's hope at least 50% of this is true.

1. Hell Of a Life (feat. Lil’ Wayne) [Kanye West & DJ Toomp]
2. Dark Fantasy [RZA]
3. Power [S1]
4. Chain Heavy (feat. Eminem & Jay-Z) [Kanye West]
5. Ghetto University (feat. T.I.) [Kanye West & DJ Toomp]
6. That’s My Girl (feat. Katy Perry & Kid Cudi) [Kanye West & Jon Brion]
7. Runaway [Kanye West & Q-Tip]
8. Lost In The World (feat. Nicki Minaj & Rick Ross) [Kanye West & No I.D.]
9. Gorgeous (Ode To Kardashians) (feat. Drake & Game & Ludacris) [Kanye West]
10. Monster [Kanye West & DJ Premier]
11. Holding Me Back (feat. Mos Def & Talib Kweli & Phonte) [Kanye West & Madlib]
12. Devil In a New Dress [Pete Rock]
13. The Joy (feat. Common & John Legend) [Kanye West]
14. So Appalled (feat. Drake & Jamie Foxx) [Kanye West & No I.D.]
15. Blame Game [DJ Toomp]
16. Sweat On My Face [DJ Premier]

G.O.O.D. News

Some rumors are going around that I hope are true. September 14th is supposed to be G.O.O.D. Music Day. Kanye, Big Sean, Consequence and now Pusha T??? Pusha won't disclose who he worked with in Hawaii, but we all know. Kanye has been in Hawaii for a minute putting in work for his new album. They are saying Pusha has or will sign to G.O.O.D. as a solo artist. The Clipse have been talking about doing solo albums and continuing the group, they are not "breaking up". I am looking forward to it is a BIG understatement.

Fat Joe ft. The Clipse and Cam'ron - Kilo
Just released....or leaked, this track is very dope. You already know what it's about. Honestly I skipped over Fat Joe's verse and plan on editing his verse out. I hate Fat Joe. Ever since J.O.S.E.

Premeditated Murder

Becoming one of my most favorite artists in the game right now, J. Cole drops another one for my your listening pleasure. Not sure if this will make the album(Cole World) or not, but it definitely deserves to be. Take some time to listen and rewind. This one is definitely going on my playlist and should be in yours too.

New Shit!

A few albums and some single tracks leaked over the last week or so. Some were hot, some definitely not.

First off was Eminem's Recovery. This was supposed to have the "old" Eminem on it. I don't know about that. Just Blaze was a producer of a couple of joints and I was really looking forward to hearing what came of it. Unfortunately I was disappointed. You might like this album. I didn't. Moving on.

Second was Big Boi's first solo album, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty. Damn near half the album was leaked over the past year. All of them except two of the hottest songs. Both of them featured Andre 3000. Count Outkast's record label Jive guilty. Jive didn't want 3 Stacks to be on any song as Outkast on another label, such as Def Jam, which is Big Boi's new label. Anyways, this album is still a quality album. I really only skip a couple of songs, depending on my mood. This is one I recommend to buy and support the artist. My friend Mike Schpitz, also wrote about this album on his site. Check it out below.

G.O.O.D. Music

BIG-SEAN
“They like, how he make something/When they ain’t give him nothing/How he stay proactive and kept this shit bumpin’”
He’s kinda under the radar, but you may have heard of Big Sean. Or not. If you haven’t, now is your chance. He may not be the most lyrical emcee around, the hardest or whatever it is that you value. What Big Sean specializes in is making enjoyable music. The kind you listen to on your way to work to get your day off to a good start. He doesn’t talk about “bangin’ on bacon” or anything depressing. Just the usual talk of weed, money, car, clothes & hoes.

I had a conversation with a good friend of mine recently about Big Sean. He HATES Big Sean. He says his lyrics suck, he doesn’t talk about anything and he sounds just like his boss, Kanye West. I have to disagree. He sounds better than ‘Ye. He doesn’t have the catalog to compare, yet. For the longest, newcoming emcee’s couldn’t make a single for their life. A lot of them blame the label, lying to us, the fans. Big Sean has multiple songs capable of being singles. He may not be rewind worthy much but you can always throw on some of his G.O.O.D. Music and enjoy it.

Big Sean has a new mixtape coming soon called Finally Famous Vol. 3. Trust that I’ll remind you to pick it up when it is released(leaked). His album, also called Finally Famous, comes out September 14th.

Check out a couple of my favorites. The first is his first official single.
